In support of Stanley...

He is not all bad.  He is a good dad although he shrieks a whole lot and doesn't like to parent past 9 pm because that is inconvenient. 

In those instances he makes me feel like this

But he can be really sweet to the children sometimes.  Like for instance, yesterday I woke up to the sound of Stanley waking up our 12 year old at the crack of dawn to get ready for school.  We had both slept overnight in the nest and I was in my room, still in bed, and could hear him walk up the stairs and go in to our son's room.   Stanley was actually 'on' since I have the weekend.  Anyway, I heard him in with our son waking him up and I could hear him giving the boy kisses and waking him up in such a sweet and gentle way.  It made me happy to know that my son had that time with his dad and made me feel all lovey inside and determined to make this work .   

Then Stanley took the boy to school and left to go out of town with his girlfriend.  And I'm good with that!  Rock on Stanley! Be happy because we are divorced!

Nesting Perk Alert

• Having 3 children, it really is easier to have all hands on deck whenever possible.  If the 'off' parent is free and wants to hang around and help, the help sure is nice.

For instance, we have 3 kids in 2 different schools that start at different times.  It makes it much easier for the one who is 'on' if the other parent is here and will run carpool to one school. I have learned I am a 'help whore' and will put up with a lot of shit to have help in the mornings.  (WAIT!  I think I just described a whole lot of marriages.) 

In other words, I will put up with returning to the nest to find some of this

If I can sometimes get some of this

But DANG!  I wish I could come in and find this!

But if I did I wouldn't leave and my children would probably be scarred for life which is what I am trying so hard to avoid in the first place.  So nevermind.
